Mark has a diverse and award-winning background in leadership, intelligence, training, simulation, gaming, virtual reality. Most recently and prior to joining Lunarline, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer of Motion Reality an Academy Award® winning motion capture and virtual reality company. Mark served for over 20 years in the U.S. Army as a Signals Intelligence Analyst and Russian linguist. He retired from the United States Army in 2005 after an interesting career that included tactical assignments with two combat tours – Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom – and duty assignments with the Army’s Land Information Warfare Activity (now the 1st Information Operations Command), the National Security Agency and the Department of Justice.
Since, Mark’s departure from the uniformed Armed Forces, Mark’s teams have been recognized with the National Training and Simulation Association’s Governor’s Award and Industry Award as well as the Innovations in Gaming Award from the Department of Defense all while working for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G2), United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. In 2010, Fast Company Magazine recognized Mr. Covey in their annual issue profiling the “Top 100 Most Creative People in Business.”
Mark has a Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Redlands (Redlands CA) and a Bachelor of Science in Administration and Management from Excelsior College (Albany NY).
