CYBER SECURITY COMPANY - LUNARLINE, INC. ACHIEVES CMMI LEVEL 2 MATURITY LEVEL
Lunarline, Inc. achieved a Maturity Level 2 rating during its recent Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®) appraisal. CMMI® is recognized as the standard for independent benchmarking within industry for maturity in critical technical and managerial processes.
The Standard CMMI® Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI A) was conducted for the Training Development, Training Services and Software Development processes at Lunarline. The appraisal was conducted by Barry Liner from AEM Corporation and the results were reviewed and approved by The Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
“I am pleased to be able to demonstrate the maturity and effectiveness of our processes that support the information security of our customers. We have been working very diligently to improve and streamline our processes and help our customers create more resilient systems and systems environments under our ISO 9001 management system. Achieving SEI’s CMMI® Level 2 affirms that we are on the right track. ” said Waylon Krush, CEO of Lunarline, Inc. “We find that by improving how we work, we increase efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction”.
“Obtaining a CMMI Level 2 maturity level for training development and training services is unique in the industry and demonstrates the high level of quality and detail that goes into our cyber security training programs” said Christine Marshall, Training Coordinator at Lunarline, Inc. “We have used the software development model to ensure our training materials are developed by industry experts, reviewed for accuracy and quality, validated for effectiveness before they are ever delivered to students. I believe this gives our students an edge, by giving them the best and most up to date information”
“I am impressed by the dedication the employees have shown in working hard to improve the processes and set higher and higher standards for themselves and their work. “ said Susan Hicks, Sr. Compliance Manager at Lunarline, Inc. Susan Hicks has worked for almost a decade as a Quality Management System consultant and has a background in software development. She now works for Lunarline full-time to lead and develop their Management system. “I have consulted for many large and medium sized software, aerospace and service companies. I was eager to become a permanent part of the Lunarline team because I knew the company took seriously the concepts of quality and process improvement”.
Lunarline was appraised at the Arlington, VA headquarters during the second week of August 2009. The company continues to improve upon their processes and aims to achieve Level 3 maturity level in the next two years.
CMMI® is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. CMMI® helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.
Serving the nation since 1984, the SEI is a federally funded research and development center. SEI has established standard practices for software engineering principles and practices and has served as a national resource in software engineering, computer security and process maturity. As part of Carnegie Mellon University, the SEI operates at the leading edge of technical innovation.
