WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded Systems Made Simple (SMS) and subcontractor Lunarline, Inc. the Veterans Technology for Services (VETS) Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). This is a business set-aside contract for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVO) small technology firms. The SMS/Lunarline team is now in an excellent position to compete for federal government procurements under this GWAC, which has a potential overall value of $5 billion. VETS will provide cutting edge technology solutions to federal agencies without the expense and time involved in open market set-aside procurements. This GWAC is the result of Executive Order 13360, which was designed to strengthen federal contracting opportunities for SDVO technology firms.
VETS presents a new way for federal agencies to achieve small business goals through the purchase of Information Technology solutions from small businesses owned by services-disabled veterans. The VETS GWAC features a five-year base period with one five-year option and ordering procedures based on Fair Opportunity (FAR 16.505). It has two functional areas: System Operations, and Maintenance and Information Systems Engineering. The VETS GWAC offers pre-completed, easy to use contracts; a short procurement lead time; training and support from the VETS GWAC acquisition team; and increased contracting opportunities for small businesses. Federal agencies will receive assistance in meeting the 3% goal for contracting SDVO firms.
Lunarline, Inc. believes that these GWACs will provide existing customers, such as the Veterans Administration, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Homeland Security with access to Lunarline's information assurance experts allowing them to accomplish their mission requirements with cost-effective 'Solutions Built on Security.'
