Talk to a Cybersecurity Expert.
We help organizations understand their organization’s cybersecurity workforce and staffing needs to protect their information, customers, and networks.
Good luck trying to hire cybersecurity experts. When there are more job openings than they are certified cyber professionals, the career boards are not your friend.
Instead, you have to develop cybersecurity professionals on your own. We offer focused solutions to tackling both federal and private sector cyber career and professional development challenges while developing a cyber workforce built for tomorrow’s challenges.
Federal Specific Solutions
That National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework is revolutionizing the Government’s approach to cybersecurity professional development. As reflected in NIST Special Publication 800-181, the NICE Framework specifies cybersecurity workforce Categories, Specialty Areas and Work Roles. It provides a disciplined, mandated approach to developing a compliant cybersecurity workforce with clear cyber career paths.
It also presents agencies with a massive compliance challenge. These new mandates require an approach and an accompanying Learning Management system that can provide granular tracking of NICE’s many Categories, Specialty Areas and Work Roles, per person. Adapting to these new requirements has proven a massive lift for large agencies.
Luckily we’ve already done the work for you.
Complete Complement of NICE-mapped Courseware and Certifications
First, the Lunarline School of Cybersecurity offers dozens of courses and certifications traced to the NICE Framework, approved and listed in the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS) Education and Training Catalog. We cover all NICE Categories, Specialty Areas and Work Roles to provide your personnel with the training and certifications they need to comply with the NICE Framework, advance their careers and enhance your cyber workforce.
Learning Management System Built for the Challenges of NICE Framework Compliance
Our Learning Management System (LMS) was built for the challenge of helping large organizations take advantage of the NICE Framework to enhance their cyber workforce. Utilizing learning analytics and data visualization, we quantitatively evaluate training data from individuals, groups, and group subsets while displaying this data visually for reporting and auditing purposes.
With this system, we can quickly assess a user’s ability related to the NICE framework using a competency alignment report. Our training is aligned with NICE KSA’s and Tasks so we can determine a user’s competency level based on their responses to tests, quizzes and knowledge checks.
To derive these ratings, our system also maintains an access log for every course and completion logs and question breakdowns by the total number of questions chosen correct and incorrect, as shown in the graph below. More important than just access, Lunarline can also report on the NICE framework competencies achieved and/or missed within a specific timeframe. This provides not just proof of alignment, but also shows that federal organizations are training and certifying individuals and groups to a high standard supported by accurate, real-time data to keep the Inspector General happy.
At the individual training level, our LMS generates a quiz analysis report after each user attempt that we use to verify the validity of test questions. Our LMS is automatically set to examine questions through the discrimination index, based on the principle that students who score highly one a quiz overall should score well on individual questions, as well as the coefficient of internal consistency, error ratio, and standard error. Our system also reports on time-on-task by looking at the user’s response history. Below is a sample question summary used to evaluate assessment quality.
Private-Sector Specific Solutions
Most Private Sector organizations don’t need to comply with the NICE Framework (yet…). But they still benefit from a structured, disciplined approach to organizing and planning their present and future cyber workforce.
Our training clients include over 200 private sector organizations, from small innovative start-ups to dozens of Fortune 500 organizations. In addition to our diverse course catalog of off-the-shelf courses and certifications, we also develop custom online, remote and/or in-class courses and programs tailored to client-specific challenges and technical environments. We also offer hosting, tracking and career development reporting services through the Lunarline Learning Management System.
Comprehensive Cyber Workforce Assessment for Organizations of all Kinds
We help organizations of all types and sizes conduct cyber talent needs analysis. This includes a review of the “to be” state of an organization’s cybersecurity skills inventory along with an “as is” goals assessment, leading ultimately to the development of a tailored Cyber Workforce Development Plan.
We also help organizations develop tailored curricula that prepare your workforce to tackle your current and anticipated threats. This includes developing diversified training and blended learning solutions that optimize training methods for efficient and cost-effective delivery.
